So.... How Long Until The Hiring Market Recovers?

This is a bit of a two-fer question -- one we just passed December, the worst month for hiring in IT sectors it seems, and of course the general hiring slowdown/hemorrhaging of employees of some places.

Does hiring pick up again in January? I haven't kept my finger on the pulse quite close enough to identify if it picks up right away or takes till February/March.

In my past experience, it was immediately after the holiday break -- just waiting on hiring managers to get back and start scheduling interviews.

This is anecdotal evidence but I have multiple interviews this week and next week, two different companies. Definitely seems like since late November through December, I got more hits from applying than the previous 10 months.

Wait you're saying you've got more hits this week than almost the previous year?

I would more say from Mid November to now, I had more call backs than the rest of 2024 combined. I casually applied from early 2024 to about September then started applying way more aggressively, barely any bites.
