I've been vaguely following the development of Redox on twitter.
Jeremy Soller (System76 engineer, Pop OS maintainer) has been leading the development of it.
It's an interesting project that is building a Unix-like operating system using a Rust microkernel. The dream of GNU Mach is still alive, basically.
They are explicitly trying to build an entire system in Rust, using their own Rust libc rewrite, Rust Desktop Environment, Rust drivers, etc etc.
Their progress so far has been pretty darn rapid, especially over the last couple of years.
Has anyone else played with this or have any insight into Redox?
